How To Get Fit At Home

Did you know that regardless of what you eat, all food breaks down into one of three groups: Proteins, Fats or Carbohydrates. Carbohydrates then turn into sugar. How does this relates to getting fit at home? The point is: losing weight isn't easy. Like the food analogy, not every food is beneficial, but; organic foods are. When it comes to staying fit at home, excuses are made as to why it isn’t possible.

Excuses are nothing more than avoiding the task at hand. Many people don’t love losing weight. It’s painful, unpleasant and hard. What is easy though is making excuses for why we can’t. Think about it like this, in order to transform your body; it could possibly take you 3, 6, or sometimes 12 months to achieve your ultimate goal. To you, that's probably a long time. In the era we live in, we want results almost immediately, instantaneous.

Before You Think It’s Easy, Think Again

You know, like Rome, you didn’t get into the shape you're in now by slipping up one day. It was something that was built up over time. And during those times, you probably made many excuse as to why you didn't want to workout or had no appetite to eat organic foods. Some interesting excuses to look at are:

  • I'll wait for the perfect program that suits me
  • Once I eat a cookie, I have to eat the whole bag
  • The gym is always crowded and I can hardly breathe in some fresh air
  • I heard so and so lost weight this way, why can’t I?
  • Working out is boring, who needs it anyway?
  • I'll start on Monday since it's the beginning of a new week
  • I just don't have the time, I’m always busy
  • I'm always tired from work, don’t I deserve a break?
  • I can't afford a personal trainer, it’s too expensive
  • Nothing seems to ever work, I’ll never lose this weights

While this excuses may sound rational, we need to see them as obstacles that can prevent anyone from getting to the point of getting fit and achieving fitness success - and yes, even at home.  Excuses, excuses and more excuses.

Suppose a doctor told you that if you don’t change your lifestyle – and form new, positive habits - that you won’t see tomorrow, I know you’ll make these changes quickly – whatever it takes, at all cost. For many of you, getting fit at home is a matter of life and death.

The excuses you make daily to avoid getting in shape can cost you your life. Unlike cats, you only have one life, not nine, so why not make the most of it? Oh! I bet you didn’t know that about cats; or do you? Ultimately, you hold the keys to getting fit – even while at home, yes you heard that right.

But as long as you make excuses for why you can't take action, you'll likely be stuck in misery or it will be your companion. When it comes to getting in shape, attaining a bikini body, staying in good shape through bikini body workouts; it’s important to know why you’re doing it. This will help you realize that there is no good reason for putting off your goal of changing the way you look – even now that you know it can be achieved at home.

Nothing Beats Choice And Motivation, See Why

Choice is the most powerful thing in the world. Everything you do is a choice. Some daily choices people make include:

  • To workout.
  • Get a job or start a business
  • What clothes to buy, where and best way to get there
  • What to eat, to name a few

Everything is a choice. When you realize that, you arm yourself with the power to choose anything you desire, and also start to realize how powerful your mind already is.

Getting Fit At Home Require Discipline

The mention of it can make you uneasy. You will agree with me that discipline is a nasty word, and has a negative connection to it. Because it means that you are going to have to work and sacrifice for whatever it is that you are trying to achieve. But the interesting thing that very few people realize is that you already are disciplined. Everyone is.

We are just disciplined to the lifestyle we currently have. Take for example, if someone says that they are not disciplined enough to workout, that's technically not true. On the flip side, they are disciplined. They are just disciplined to not working out. It's the change, and thought of sacrifice and work that scares them. Which boils down to a change in mindset as highlighted above. Basically, every individual is disciplined already, just to their current lifestyle.

No Gym Membership, No Problem

If anyone ever told you that you can't get fit unless you sign up for a gym membership, that person is - listen closely, you need to get this - DEAD WRONG. At home, you can perform ‘single-joint exercises.’ Multi-joint exercises involve movement across more than just one joint.

As an example, Dumbbell Bicep Curls are a single-joint exercise, why? Because they entail movement primarily over just one joint - the elbow. Rows and Chin-ups, however, are multi-joint exercises because not only do they involve movement at the elbow, but also at the shoulder as well. When single-joint movements becomes a focus, you engage in more muscular activity. This means you will burn more calories, and in many cases; trigger more muscular growth as well as strength.

Strength Movements

Whenever at home and desiring to get fit, one movement not to leave out is strength movements. Strength movements are lifts that involve heavy weights, let’s say an average Dumbbell which usually is moved slowly. In this category would be the multi-joint lifts such as the Dips, Dumbbell Curls, Push-ups, Chin-ups, Rear Leg Elevated Squat, Vertical Jump, Lunges and their close-resembling variations. At other times, these exercises focus on smaller aspects of your strength training.

Maybe you have a weakness that makes it tough for you. Some Lift can enable you focus on strengthening that aspect of your body even at home. This is also where you will perform Lifts that round out your strength and prevent injuries. This is where you would put Curls in order to keep the biceps strong and to prevent tears, and it is where you would perform your unilateral movements (one side of the body focused on as opposed to both) such as Lunges and Leg Elevated Split Squats.

Naturally, if there are other things that you would like to work on, such as your core strength or grip strength, you won't go wrong if they get added as part of your exercises. If you follow these guidelines consistently, without having to own a gym membership - since you can do it at home anyway, and without having to spend a great deal on your own equipments; I know you will see great progress.
